Jennie Byrne, M.D., PH.D


Dr. Jennie Byrne is a board-certified psychiatrist with more than 20 years of experience providing psychiatric care to adults ages 18 and older. Her clinical work focuses on treating a wide range of mental health conditions with an emphasis on individualized, evidence-based care.

Dr. Byrne earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and completed doctoral training in neurophysiology at New York University. She also holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from the New York University School of Medicine and completed her psychiatry residency at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. In addition to her clinical work, she has conducted extensive research on attention, memory, and depression.

Her approach to patient care is grounded in transparency, education, and open communication. Dr. Byrne prioritizes helping patients understand their diagnosis and treatment options, working collaboratively to develop care plans that align with each individual’s needs and goals.

After practicing in New York City for 12 years, Dr. Byrne relocated to North Carolina in 2008, where she has held a variety of clinical and leadership roles at both the state and national levels. She is a past President of the North Carolina Psychiatric Association and has served on national committees for the American Psychiatric Association.

Dr. Byrne is a graduate of the North Carolina Medical Society Healthcare Leadership and Management College and continues to consult with innovative healthcare organizations across the country. She is also the author of Work Smart: Use Your Brain and Behavior to Master the Future of Work.

Dr. Byrne is licensed in multiple states and provides psychiatric services via telehealth to adults residing in North Carolina, New York, Virginia, Tennessee, Texas, California, Arizona, and Nevada.
