Lesa Bridges, LCSW, Ed.D. (ABD)


Ms. Lesa Bridges is a therapist with more than 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents, families, and couples. She is deeply committed to supporting children and families through emotional, behavioral, and relational challenges using a strengths-based, evidence-informed approach.

Ms. Bridges primarily utilizes play therapy when working with young children and integrates parent and family involvement to ensure a systems-focused approach to care. She places strong emphasis on coordinating treatment with families and schools, recognizing that children function within multiple interconnected environments. Her work with children addresses a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, school refusal, academic struggles, learning differences, attention difficulties, autism spectrum concerns, sibling conflict, oppositional behavior, conduct issues, and adjustment to life changes such as relocation or divorce.

In her work with adolescents, Ms. Bridges focuses on the developmental challenges unique to this stage of life, including autonomy, emotional and physical changes, peer relationships, and parent–teen conflict. She collaborates with teens to identify goals while also considering broader systems such as family dynamics, school environments, and social influences. Her approach balances validation with skill-building and accountability to support healthy development and emotional regulation.

Ms. Bridges has extensive experience working with youth and families affected by trauma, including those involved in the evaluation and treatment of sexualized behaviors. She has completed hundreds of psychosocial evaluations and has significant expertise in understanding the impact of mental, physical, and sexual abuse across the lifespan. Her background also includes specialized experience in foster care and adoption, as well as familiarity with family and criminal court processes. She has testified as an expert witness.

Throughout her career, Ms. Bridges has supported families navigating crisis, separation, and divorce. She helps parents and children manage uncertainty and emotional distress by emphasizing strengths, promoting healthy communication, and providing psychoeducation about family transitions. Her work focuses on helping families find common ground, reduce conflict, and move toward healthier outcomes.

Ms. Bridges also works with couples experiencing relationship distress. She supports partners in improving communication, managing conflict, and strengthening emotional connection during challenging periods. Her therapeutic approach is eclectic and tailored to the needs of the individual, couple, or family.

Ms. Bridges is rostered and certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and integrates mindfulness, emotional regulation strategies, and positive coping skills into her work. Her approach is practical, compassionate, and grounded in helping individuals, couples, and families build resilience and move toward healthier, more stable relationships.
